About the film
Olivia, a Franco-American writer, returns to her ancestral village in the south of France to write the story of her grandmother, who fled Paris during the Nazi invasion during World War II. There, she meets Madeline, a talented local artist, who quickly replaces her grandmother as the face of the novel. As a number of strange coincidences ensue, fiction and reality intermingle uncannily, and Olivia starts to ask whether she's part of history's unfolding story, or vice-versa.
Kalki Koechlin stars as Olivia, a Franco‑American writer who returns to her grandmother’s village in southern France and meets local artist Madeline, blurring fiction and reality as she writes her novel.
